Tour de Lads

An intrepid team of five cyclists raised £7,600 by tackling a gruelling 440 mile bike ride from London to Edinburgh.

Matt Buckle, Tom Smith, Max Scotchmer, Tom Gilpin and Gareth Buss completed the Rat Race Road Trip, ably assisted by supporter Jono Perry, under the banner of the "Tour de Lads."

Not content with taking part in the "standard" version of the event, they chose to make things even more difficult by entering the "expert" category, which meant they had to cover the distance in just two days. They were spurred on by their fundraising efforts, which had been prompted when Matt's young son Toby was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome when just 10 months old.

The lads completed the challenge and smashed through their fundraising target, helped by Matt's Mum Janet, who organised fundraising days which included music, juggling and cake sales.
